The USA's goals during the Cold War were to contain communism in Russia, spread democracy, and keep the world safe. They feared that if communism spread, the whole world would go downhill. This belief of the USA was known as the Domino Theory, really meaning that if one country fell to communism, all would fall. The USA's idealogoies during the war were containment and spreading democracy. The USA wanted to do anything they could to be better than the USSR and to stop communism. Many laws were passed to help the USA contain communism. The Marshall Plan, Truman Doctrine, and the Eisenhower Doctrine were all put in place to furthur the USA's goals.
The bald eagle and the Statue of Liberty are symbols of the USA. The flag also represents the country.
